The Citizen Building

The Citizen Building in St Vincent Street was built in the mid 1880’s as the offices and printing works for the Evening Citizen newspaper. It was Glasgow’s first evening newspaper paper.

The distinct red sandstone facade was designed by T.L. Watson, in the Dutch Renaissance style.

The pen and watercolour painting forms part of a series of Scottish cityscape artworks.
